Magical South Korean island Jeju explored in the winter by foot and captured in images by the Latvian traveler, adventurer and photographer Kristine Sergejeva. 26 trails, 26 days, 422 km. Each day is described in one blog post presenting the selection of the best photos, highlights of the day and the thought of the day.
Day 4. Route 21 : Hado - Jongdal Olle. 10.1 km
Day 4. Route 21 : Hado - Jongdal Olle. 10.1 km
This has been the shortest route until now - less than 11 km; but I somehow felt very tired and thoughtful. My walking pace was slow and leisurely - the weather was breezy and the sun emerged for a short period through clouds and soon concealed from the view again. Appeared and hid again...
This was one of those days when every image came with an effort. And every step - with another effort. And it is OK!

The Thought of the Day
I realised that in this moment of my life I do not want to follow any external ideas, methods and practices. No more religions, spiritual guides, intellectual or spiritual gurus and motivational speakers... No more external ideas about 'rights' and 'wrongs', what to do and what should not be done. Not now. I have this very clear awareness that I have connected right now with myself and understand my role, my position and myself within this world, of course, from the internal perspective. And this is such a self-empowering feeling, which somehow also might mean that the search is finished for now. What I was searching outside, I have found inside. This old guru with the big beard is within me!

Highlights
- One day before I passed so many gardens of orange trees, whose branches were covered abundantly by beautiful and ripe fruits. But today the characteristic landscape of the countryside was big plantations of carrots.
- There was a beautiful beach on today's trail which was covered with brightly colored shells (exactly as the ones from those boxes of candies called "sea stones"). Like a child I started to pick them up and soon I had full pockets with shells and sand - almost like catching in my pocket the sea itself.
- In the middle of the day I wanted to find some place to drink a coffee but everything was closed on the shore. However, soon I discovered a hidden gem cafe (it was called "Bali in Jeju", if I am not wrong) with amazing view, marvelous coffee and an incredibly delicious toast with omelette.
- Until now I definitely prefer the East Coast more than the West Coast of the Island. Maybe also because every time I walk along the East Coast, it is sunny; and reverse.
